INFORMATION AND REQUESTS

INFORMATION AND REQUESTS.

Each week this blog will publish on Friday at 6pm Irish time. Mister Linky will remain open until 8am on Monday.

PLEASE LINK DIRECTLY to your monochrome post. If your link leads to your home page it makes it very difficult for anyone trying to visit after a few days.

PLEASE don't hide your photo(s) in a whole string of entries for other memes - it's hard for all concerned.

PLEASE post ONLY BLACK AND WHITE photos - no patches of colour and no sepia or other colour treatments however good they may look. A black and white photo with added colour will lead to REMOVAL OF THE LINK. This challenge is ONLY for black and white photographs.

I'm sorry I was so late visiting you all last time. My computer was giving trouble, and in the end I had to reset to factory condition. That meant re-installing all my software, bookmarks - everything! Would you believe I'm STILL finding stuff that needs doing?

Never mind, I managed to pick my favourites. These are from Carver (Rodin Garden), Vicki, Maraca (Fisherman), David - Houston (The Seed), IvyTaviaC. (This and That), Ankush Samant (Eyes and Time and Me), Mickie Brown (Deep in Thought).

As usual, you can click on the photos or the names above to visit the original posts. It's always well worth seeing the original photos full-size.

Friday, September 23rd, 2011.

Again, it was a hard job picking just a few photos this week. There were just so many fine pictures. I finally chose these from WayOutWest (Misting), NattsyrransPhoto (Tracks From a Cow), Dimple (Window), Carver (Pecan Season), Ruthi (Fountain), and Maria's Space (9/11 10th Anniversary).

Friday, 16th September, 2011.

I want to thank Dragonstar for the chance to be her stand-in this week.
It was interesting and fun to be allowed to choose the pictures that became my favourites this time.
My choice is based on my opinion about the best botanical images, most unique portrait, best abstract image, image with the best reflection and image telling the strongest story.
Finally I want to give an honorary award to the creator of this wonderful blog, Dragonstar, because she deserves it.
Applause to all contributors, unfortunately could not all be mentioned.

My choice is number 9, Elisabeth (The Last Blooms of Summer); number 60, E:thos (Rutendo DeNise); number 14, David (Abstraction); number 4, Carpe Diem (Touch); number 42, Lachezar (Old Woman and Fire Wood). Finally number 3, Dragonstar (Snails).

Tommy André Nekkoy

I'd like to thank Tommy very much for making the selection this week. I'm sure you'll agree he's done a wonderful job.
I'd also like to thank him for including my photo, and his kind words. I love this challenge, and seeing all your photos each week.
Thank you Tommy!

These lovely photos are from Emma (Mushroom): Antonia (Umbrellas): Tommy (Candlelights): Carpe Diem (In the Spotlight): Follygirl (Morning Mist): and Dimple (Nebraska "Lighthouse").

Tommy will be making the selection this week, as I'll be away again for much of the time. He's a fine photographer, and I'm looking forward to seeing his choices!

Friday, 2nd September, 2011.

Another wonderful week. The level of observation and ability you all show is stunning! Although it shouldn't be possible, each week seems to be even better than the one before.

These are from Francisca (Palm Shadow): NattsyrransPhoto (Faded Tulip): Dave Q (Acoustic): Veredit (Structures in Glass): The Chieftess (You've Got Mail): and Ms. Becky (Fern).

Friday, 26th August, 2011.

I've been unable to to choose just six photos this week - maybe a residue of last week's exhaustion :)

These are from Carver (Bobbin for Fish); Sivinden (Regn); Ruimnm (leituras fotogrĂ¡ficas); Lina (A portrait of an Owl); Raf (Rainy Market Morning); Paul, Auckland-West (The Raven and the First Men); and James (Fish in the Grass).

I'm still looking for a volunteer to make the selection for the weekend of September 9th to 12th.

Friday, 19th August, 2011.

I made it!
I'm back in time to post this week's page!

Aileni chose his favourites this time. I've previously given some thought to featuring guest selectors, and I've treated this as a kind of practice run. I think it's worked well, so I'm asking if anyone else would like to try. I'll be away again on 11th September - anyone interested? Maybe we could make it a monthly event. Let me know how you feel.

My grateful thanks to Aileni for selecting six photos for me.
These are his choices; Francisca (Face of an Angel): E:thos (Staircase to Heaven): David, Houston (Drought): Paul, Auckland-West (Chapel of Faith in the Oaks): Ann (stair patterns): Magiceye (Butterfly).

Friday, 12th August, 2011.

Happy weekend to everyone!
Tomorrow I'm off to London again to help my daughter pack up some clothes and stuff. I won't be back until next Friday.
I'll have time (I hope) to set up next week's page, but not to choose a selection.
That being so I've enlisted the aid of a guest selector - Aileni.
I'm sure he'll have fun!

Anyway, these are my choices from last week. They come from Veredit (handmade II); Sivinden (Juvel); Ann, Sydney Meanderings (Martin Place); Manka (Hold on tight!!); Antonia (view); Magiceye (At the Mahim Nature Park).

I've gone back to the old style of Mister Linky this week, as I won't be around to sort out possible problems.

Friday, 5 August 2011

Friday, 5th August, 2011.

This week I've chosen photos from Sivinden (Silhuett): David, Houston (Floating Duckweed): Birgitta (Dahlia): Uncle T (Fountain): Robert (dear lily): and Ann (Cityscape).

Although there were a few "teething problems" with last week's thumbnails, I'm giving them another try to see how they go. Although it all takes up a great deal more room, I like being able to see everyone's avatars or photos.
